Company Vehicles Donated To Charity
My family owns and operates a second generation plant nursery and floristry business. Many years ago my dad had decided to expand his nursery business to include a florist delivery service.
I was just a boy but I can still remember when my dad brought home our first delivery van. He was so proud to show mom and his boys the hand-painted Jansen Family Nursery logo.
Now, years later, it was our turn. With our dad standing next to us my younger brother and I beamed with pride as our two newly leased delivery vans drove up displaying the hand-painted Jansen Family Nursery logo once again.
We had kept two of the older vans for a long time as backup for our delivery fleet. The family logo was worn and faded but both vans still ran pretty good. Now we didn’t need them anymore.
That evening as I was locking up the two older company vans in back of the nursery my seven year old asked, "What are you going to do with these old vans dad?"
I don’t know why but I said the very first thing that came to my mind, "We’re going to give these old vans to charity."
I had heard about the car donation to charity program where people take their old vehicles and donate them to charity. I also knew that a car donation to charity could possibly be eligible as a tax write off on the company’s itemized tax return.
The more I thought about it the more I liked the idea so I asked my wife Cindy to look into it for me.
The next day I spoke to my brother and my dad about the probability of making a vehicle donation to charity with the two older vans and I was happy to hear that everyone agreed it was a great idea.
Cindy had printed off a list of eligible charities that she found on her Internet search. Dad seemed to lean towards the National Veterans Service Fund so we all decided that would be a great cause to make a car donation to.
We went back to the www.easy-donate-a-car.com website and were able to find all the information we needed about making a car donation online on behalf of the National Veterans Services Fund.
The car donation processing center handled everything for us including all the paperwork and picking up the used vans.
We were in one of our busiest seasons so it was a relief to learn how quick and simple it is to donate a car to charity.
We only needed to forward the proof of ownership and the car donation processing center took care of the rest.
Before long, the car donation center had arranged to have the vans picked up and sold, with the proceeds going to support the efforts of The National Veterans Services Fund.
It really was that easy!
